Dr. Michael Mrozinski

Hi, l'm Dr. Michael Mrozinski, I have been a doctor for 15 years and have 21 years of study and work in medicine in total. My work has taken me to different places. I work as a rural GP in small hospitals across remote Australia, where I'm often the only doctor there. It can be scary at times, but I enjoy using my knowledge and skills in places where sometimes the care isn't as good as it should be, due to shortages and recruitment issues. I feel passionate about people in rural communities receiving the same level of care as those living in a big city.

I have also worked a considerable amount of time in the emergency department, as well as having extra qualifications in skin cancer medicine and a Masters in Sports Medicine. For 10 years, I worked in professional sports - Football, Rugby, Boxing/MMA. I was lucky enough to be able to travel the world with the Scottish and Australian football teams and was at the Commonwealth Games in 2014. During that time I was a senior lecturer and tutor at Monash University in Melbourne and loved teaching future doctors.

Over the last 10 years, I have seen people becoming increasingly frustrated with the medical system, as it has become more stretched and has not been meeting their needs. There are medical conditions that are not treated well, either because we don't know enough about them or there aren't any treatments we can offer. I feel like the medical community needs to discuss this more and have a more open approach.

In dialogue, I would love to hear from the public and learn what is frustrating them, what medical professionals can do better and what your suggestions are. This way we can work through these issues together and have an open discussion on how we make medical care better for future generations. I would also love to hear from other healthcare professionals to gain their perspective and share their expertise. Come along for the ride!
